Preparing Your Tank or Bowl

Please do not EVER keep your betta in the little plastic cup you got him or her from. If you need a home for one single Betta, then a bowl or tank will suffice. You don't necessarily need to go out and buy a 15 gallon tank or anything, but a 3-5 gallon tank or bowl would be nice. Please don't keep your little friend in a vase with a plant on top. It isn't a real home for your betta. Once you've found the perfect living place for your Betta, you need some decorations. Definitely get some plants, but not the plastic ones. They harm their delicate fins. Get some silk plants, those are some of the best. They need plants so they have a place to hide and sleep. Getting real plants is good too, if you don't mind cleaning them. Then, a place to swim through will keep your fishy entertained for hours at a time. Like a rock with big holes in it would be perfect. Then, you should probably get some rocks or stones to put on the bottom of the tank to keep from seeing all the gross waste at the bottom of your tank. Also, if you're looking for a clean tank, I recommend putting what most people call, moss-balls. You can find them at your local pet store. They absorb lots of the waste materials in your bowl, making things nice and clean. You do, however, have to clean the actual moss-ball as well, but trust me, it isn't difficult. Hopefully, your new environment turned out great for your betta!
